Kenna Partners Announces New Managing Partner and Deputy

Kenna Partners is pleased to announce the appointment of a new managing partner and deputy. Mr Ituah Imhanze was appointed as the Managing Partner of the Firm while Mr Charles Nwabulu was appointed as the Deputy Managing Partner, effective June 2, 2023.

Speaking about the new appointments, Founder, Professor Fabian Ajogwu, SAN, who will now serve as the Chairman of the Firm’s Board, congratulated Mr. Ituah Imhanze and Mr Charles Nwabulu “as coming with decades of experience in the Firm and commitment to its culture and clients. We are delighted to see the new leadership team evolve at this stage in our journey”.

Managing Partner Shows Gratitude

In accepting the appointment, Mr Ituah Imhanze thanked the Board of Governance of the Firm for deeming him fit for the position. He stated that he would be relying on the wealth of experience of his predecessor and colleagues in taking the Firm to the next level. “We appreciate the vision and refined leadership that Professor Ajogwu has established in Kenna Partners. He has been a source of inspiration to the Firm, generations of lawyers and remarkable service to the Firm’s stakeholders. Kenna Partners has over the years positioned itself as a refined law firm, with a strong culture of excellence and innovation.”

Ajogwu remarked that “with the fresh energies and ideas re-injected in the leadership of the Firm, I will now focus on what I have always enjoyed – the practice of law and the development of young counsel”.

According to the Practice Director, Mr. Adekunle Omidiora, “I am also pleased to congratulate Mr. Imhanze and Mr. Nwabulu on assuming their new roles as Managing Partner and Deputy Managing Partner, respectively, at this stage in the Firm’s journey. Commenting on his new role, Ituah Imhanze said: “I am indeed privileged and honoured to be entrusted by the Board and Partners with the mantle of leadership of our Firm. Mr Charles Nwabulu thanked the “Board for the opportunity to be of service and provide supportive leadership to this great Firm. It is an honour and one that is a call to greater service. We will remain focused on our core values of service in reinforcing the ethos of practice at this 30-year-old institution”.

About Ituah Imhanze

Ituah Imhanze, the new Managing Partner, has led the Firm’s various practice areas and has a thorough understanding of the Nigerian judicial system and business landscape with experience in Commercial Litigation and Arbitration.

He has successfully represented financial institutions, regulators, governments, and multinationals in high-profile disputes. He has represented international oil companies in various disputes, including oil spill matters and compensation claims, at the Appellate and ECOWAS courts.

His experience in Commercial Arbitration in several jurisdictions led him to sit as an arbitrator on various panels over various disputes. He has also successfully mediated settlements in company disputes in Nigeria and abroad.

About Mr. Charles Nwabulu

The new Deputy Managing Partner, Mr Charles Nwabulu, has represented blue chip corporations in banking, investments and financial services, oil and gas, infrastructure and property development, and regulators across several industries.

He has advised and represented clients in various disputes, including Energy and Natural Resources, Maritime, Environmental Law, Intellectual Property, Insolvency, Tax, and Corporate Law. He has advised on cross-border litigation and enforcement of securities arising from financing transactions.

He has undertaken teaching engagements in areas of law at the University of London, External System.
