Kenna Partners Commemorates 2025 International Day of Education

Nigerian commercial law firm, Kenna Partners, commemorated the 2025 International Day of Education held on Friday, January 24, by partnering with the AIFA Reading Society to host an insightful event at the Gbaja Boys Senior High School in Surulere, Lagos.

The event, centred around the theme of this year’s International Day of Education: “AI and Education: Preserving Human Agency in a World of Automation,” sparked engaging discussions as the speakers delivered career talks exploring the use of AI and its impact on the legal and technological professions.

Associate at Kenna Partners, Ms. Oluwatobi Sanni, introduced the audience to artificial intelligence, its growing importance in the legal sector and how it can be leveraged to enhance educational outcomes. She further highlighted the inherent and potential risks of AI in education, emphasising the need to preserve human agency and critical thinking skills amid the rapid advancements in technology.

Following the informative talks, the students were treated to a motivational video screening about the power of choice to inspire them to make informed decisions that shape their future. Soon after, a lively quiz session was held, with students who answered questions correctly rewarded with cash prizes, adding an element of excitement to the day’s activities.

In her remarks, Sustainability & Development Manager at Kenna Partners, Ms Funmilayo Adeshina, reiterated the firm’s commitment to supporting initiatives that empower young people through access to education. She stated: “Education offers children a ladder out of poverty and a path to a promising future, a sentiment that resonates deeply with this year’s UN theme for the International Day of Education.
