World Intellectual Property Day: Innovation – Improving Lives

World Intellectual Property Day was established by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in 2000 to “raise awareness of how patents, copyright, trademarks and designs impact on daily life” and “to celebrate creativity, and the contribution made by creators and innovators to the development of societies across the globe”.

This year, the aim is to explore how innovation makes lives healthier, safer, and more comfortable, turning problems into progress. WIPO will look at how the intellectual property (IP) system supports innovation by attracting investment, rewarding creators and encouraging them to develop their ideas.

At Kenna Partners, our IP Practice Unit deals with the creation and protection of IP rights, through registrations, licensing and litigation when necessary.

Our lawyers have substantial experience in many areas: Trademark, Copyright, and Trade Secrets. We provide Nigerian and foreign trademark, copyright and patent prosecution, counseling and transactional services. Our strategic focus is aimed at enabling the Client to achieve their business objectives.

For that reason, we assist Clients in protecting IP rights from infringement, counterfeiting, misappropriation and unfair competition.
