The Nigerian Institute of Arbitrators (NICArb) on November 18th-19th held the 2021 edition of its hybrid annual conference and investiture. The investiture with the theme, ‘Disruption and the New Normal in Arbitration/ADR: A Way Forward’ held physically at Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos and virtually on Whova. According to the Communique released by the NiCARB, the focus of the Conference was to provide a forum for users, experts and practitioners in arbitration and other ADRs across sectors in the African Continent and beyond to discuss, share knowledge and proffer solutions from the aftermath of COVID 19 disruptions.
Joining over 200 delegates physically and over 150 delegates online with about 50 speakers from all over the world, our Principal Partner, Prof. Fabian Ajogwu (SAN), at the event had his investiture as the Institute’s President & Chairman of the Governing Council.
During the two days of the Conference, the following topics and many more were discussed:

- The Role of Arbitration/ADR in resolving Claimant Change and Clean Energy Disputes
