Adeola leads Kenna Partner’s tax practice and specialised transactions unit. He brings a unique blend of legal, financial and business expertise to the firm. He plays a pivotal role in the firm’s dispute resolution, taxation and corporate and commercial units.
He provides strategic legal counsel and representation with an ability to craft innovative solutions to legal challenges. He has represented the Government of Nigeria and some of its agencies in multi billion-dollar claims, as well as Multinational Organisations and Financial Institutions in regulatory, contract and tax disputes. He advises both local and foreign clients on transactions relating to energy, infrastructure, financial services, white-collar investigations and inquiries.
Adeola is regarded highly for his versatility and meticulous attention to details. He prides himself on being able to see each case through the client’s lens, with an open professional mind.
Relevant Experience
- Acted as adviser and transactional Counsel in Nigeria’s biggest currency swap (Nigeria-China Currency Swap Agreement).
- Advised a sovereign pension fund backed private equity company in setting up a Real Estate Investment Trust in Nigeria.
- Advised a Sovereign and other investment partners on the establishment and management of a US$35.6 billion infrastructure development fund.
- Advised an MNO on a spectrum acquisition transaction valued at approximately US$70 million.
- Acted as Liquidator for the dissolution of a foremost CDMA company acquired by a major MNO
- Acted as adviser to an FMCG company on its acquisition of N65 billion real estate properties across different states in Nigeria.
- Represented an MNO in respect of disputes over alleged shortfalls in federal accruable revenue and taxes in excess of US$30 billion.
- Defended an MNO in respect of tax disputes with a Nigerian government regulator in excess of US$2 billion.
