Elizabeth Chinenyenwa Nwarueze has been selected by the British Council for the prestigious Future Leaders Connect Award. She is a candidate of the Nigerian Bar, studying at the Nigerian Law school, Yenagoa Campus. She earned a First Class Degree in Law at the University of Ibadan, graduating as 2018 Best Graduating Student.
She currently volunteers as Membership Coordinator of StreetLaw Advocacy Network and participated in volunteering causes and events as African Students for Liberty Conference, Passon Incubator Initiative and G7 Initiative for Young Females.
She considers her contribution to mitigating the rise of child abuse and child marriage in Lagos State of Nigeria as her biggest achievement for community and global change during her tenure as Clerk of 4th Lagos State Children’s Parliament. This led an upward view of the penalties for breach of the child rights to education and development in the Child Rights Law of Lagos in 2015.
Elizabeth is committed to building an enabling global community with the participation of youth regardless of gender to promote a sustainable political, economic and social environment in the world.
In October this year, Elizabeth will fly Nigeria’s flag at the UK Parliament, contributing substantially to international policy-making.
